This limited edition box of chocolates has been made especially for The Galway Races. It has been carefully created to embody everything that The Galway Races is.

Each one of the artistically hand-painted chocolates has their own character consisting of unique aromas, textures and flavours. Each individual chocolate is carefully hand-painted so every one is individual, and with their delicious filled centres, the combination of flavours and textures are created for your satisfaction. Attention to detail is of utmost importance to ensure your enjoyment of ‘rud éigin milis’ (something sweet).

The Galway Plate

Inspired by the red and gold of the Galway Races Logo. For Michael Moloney strawberries and cream are the flavours that represent the perfectly ripe strawberries that are in season at the time of the Galway Races. The freshest of summer strawberries are picked to create an oozing strawberry compote. This matches to perfection with our beautiful white chocolate ganache

Killanin

Inspired by Willie Mullins’ race colours. The sea salt ganache was chosen to invoke the sea salt in the air from Galway Bay and the view of Salthill from the Killanin stand. A silky smooth ganache is made using flakes of Achill Island Sea Salt from Co.Mayo. This is perfectly paired with a rich dark chocolate.

Ladies Day

Inspired by the bold colours and fashion of Ladies Day. The peach filling wrapped in a white chocolate shell is inspired by Gráinne’s father’s memories of eating ripe peaches as a child at every race meet. Fruitful and sweet this white chocolate shell is filled with a beautiful peach and vanilla compote. Fresh white peaches have been selected for the making of this compote and it is paired with fragramatic Madagascan vanilla pods.

The Hurdle

Inspired by Gráinne’s Grandfather’s race colours. The flavours of Turkish Delight in a milk chocolate shell were the favourites of Gráinne’s grandfather Captain Luke Mullins. Smooth Turkish delight bursting with rose is a heavenly match with our 35% milk chocolate shell.

The Track

Inspired by the green grass of the race course. The filling is inspired by Gráinne’s memories of getting a Toblerone on the way out by the hawkers. Soft almond nougat is made using the finest of almonds. Caramelised almond pieces add the perfect crunch. Finished with a luxurious hazelnut praline which elevates the rounded notes of the milk chocolate shell.
